Easy Thanksgiving Place Cards

Quick and Easy Thanksgiving Place Cards

Hi everyone! This is Britni from Play. Party. Pin. I am so excited to be joining the A to Zebra Celebrations contributor team. With Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought I’d share an easy DIY place card idea that you could use to make your Thanksgiving dinner table just a little more festive.

Easy Thanksgiving Place Cards

  • Burlap bags or just plain burlap sewed together to create pockets
  • Any fabric with feathers on it or any patterned fabric scraps
  • Brown fabric scraps
  • Orange fabric scraps
  • Clear fabric glue such as Fabri-Tac
  • Scissors
  • Sticker letters

Step 1 – Gather your supplies.

Step 2 – Cut out your feathers if you are using fabric with feathers. If not, cut out feather shapes from your patterned fabric. Once feathers are cut, cut out turkey shapes (large body, small head) from your brown fabric, and a small triangle for the beak.

Step 3 – Lay out your feathers to decide how you want them to look.

Step 4 – Glue feathers into place on the burlap leaving space toward the bottom to add a name. Once your feathers are glued on, glue on the turkey’s body, eyes, and beak.

Step 5 – Repeat until you’ve created enough place cards for guests at the table.

Step 6 – Add names to the bottom of each place cards using the sticker letters. If they are not sticking, you can help them stick using the fabric glue.

And that’s it, you’re done! Depending on how many you are making, you could have these done in less than 30 minutes. Wouldn’t they add such a festive touch to your Thanksgiving feast?
