My daughter Ashley turned 9 last October and yes! I’m finally posting her party…..sigh….. where does the time go? Let me share a little more about this party though because it was a complete nightmare and I want to keep it VERY real for you! Even though this may seem picture perfect, it was NOT!
Meet my girl Ashley who loves music, dancing and partying just like her mommy…ha! She’s outgoing, fun and my social butterfly! She asked me for a “Neon, Glow-in-the-dark, Rockstar Party”!….Hello??!!….oh yeah…..mommy can deliver right? Sorta…..I felt it was out of my league but with the help of Petite Party Studio we executed an adorable invite that Ashley loved.
So her party was scheduled for a Saturday evening. I went to pick up the cake and cupcakes at my local bakery store and they had made the wrong cake in wrong colors.I had told my girls to stay in the car while I ran into the bakery to grab goodies. They follow after me and lock my keys in the car!!!!!!! I was devastated, my daughter was upset and I had 2 hours to set up and get us ready for the party. Long story short, I had to reschedule party for next day on a Sunday hoping everyone could still make it. I normally don’t take pics at my parties and I had to for this one. They aren’t the best, but I did what I could. This is as real as it can get and at the end of the day, my daughter and her friends loved everything and it turned out fabulous!
I set up the table super simple and very inexpensive! The custom cake and cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes were the main focus on the desserts table. I made the party banner at my local scrapbook store and taped it on the wall.
I found these wood guitars at Michael’s and I spray painted them with pink neon spray paint. I added a custom sign from Petite Party Studio saying “Let’s Party like a Rockstar!”…..super cute right?!
The bite size cupcakes from Gigi’s were super popular! I love putting them on a platter and adding sixlets around them. It looks so fun! I get my sixlets from Sweetworks. They have the best selection and all the colors you need!
I got these white bowls for $.99 cents at Party City and I put neon sticker dots on them. The candy scoops are from Party City as well for $.79 cents each……bargain!
I found the bright and fun candy at the local store Sweeties! They have everything I swear!
Each cupcake had a party circle designed by Petite Party Studio. They are seriously one of my favorite designers!
Ashley wanted her cake super bright with all colors and she specifically asked for stars and a guitar…..we loved it!!
Gigi’s Cupcakes did a fantastic job with all the desserts and the cake was a BIG hit!
Ashley is such a happy girl! Always smiling 🙂
I made a super fun backdrop for the photo booth. It is made on a piece of plywood painted black and glued sticky notes all over. I also cut some stars with paper and incorporated some of them. Everyone had a blast taking photos!
Love my girl so much! This is the only pic we got together that evening. So worth it!
Favors included a necklace, bracelet, tattoos, glow in the dark lip gloss and a hat. All of them from Party City.
That is all my friends! This was a super simple and affordable party! I hope you enjoy my ideas. What is your favorite detail?
