Yesterday was National Tequila Day and my girls thought I should make some strawberry mango margaritas! Of course, they wanted to participate and drink some with mommy but I made theirs without tequila 😉
My little girl was anxious to drink her alcohol-free margarita in the same glass as mommy’s, of course!
I have several favorite kinds of tequilas but I used what I had in hand for these. In this case, Jose Cuervo Tradicional. Have you tried it? It’s pretty good!
- 1⁄2 cup gold tequila (oro)
- 1⁄3 cup orange liqueur
- 1⁄4 cup lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 2 cups frozen unsweetened strawberries
- 2 cups ice cubes
- In a blender combine tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, sugar, mango chunks, and strawberries. Cover and blend until smooth. With the blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid until mixture becomes slushy. Pour mixture into glasses. Makes 5 (6-ounce) servings.
