Hannah’s Fiesta Celebration

My youngest daughter, Hannah turned 12 back on April 11th and we celebrated her birthday last weekend. She wanted a “Fiesta” theme with lots of fun and bright colors! Mommy being Mexican had no trouble pulling this together with very little time and no sleep the night before…eek!

HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY to my little princess!

THANK YOU to my sweet man, Rob for ALL his help! He stayed up all night with me decorating, crafting and setting up everything. I couldn’t have done all this without his help!…He’s so amazing to me and my girls! You love his hat? It’s from Party City 😉

Fiesta Decorations

How did I start putting this party together? Well…..my daughter Hannah told me she wanted lots of things with cactuses and I immediately went to my local craft stores to look for things. Lucky for me, the cactus trend is full on force and super popular. I was able to find the fabric for my table runners at Hobby Lobby. The paper plates, cups, fiesta banner/garland hanging over the table where the girls sat is from Party City. I made all the centerpieces, ribbon garlands and table runners. You can buy these from my etsy shop.

Fiesta Desserts

Hannah did not want a custom made cake but she wanted a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes in her favorite flavor, white raspberry chocolate. She also wanted cactus cake pops, cactus cookies from Inspired Sugar. The mini cupcakes are from Walmart and I made jello in different colors.

Fiesta Food

Hannah requested a taco bar for food…..yum! I was excited to hire a taco cart and let someone handle all this but my daughter did NOT want anyone else cooking but me…..eek! I had to quickly think of a fun idea to set up this taco bar. I hired someone to build me a cute stand and loved how it turned out! I decorated it with a bright ribbon garland, some foam letters and that’s it!….super duper cute!

Fiesta Candy aka Dulces

I set up a small table with traditional Mexican candy. I picked out my most favorite candies for the girls! We had a matching cactus pinata that my mom made and it was soooo adorable! You can buy the pinata in my mom’s etsy shop, Party House Pinatas.

The party was as super fun! The girls played pin the tail on the donkey, loteria, hit the pinata, ate lots of sugar and tacos, of course! My family came in town from Mexicali, we visited and enjoyed celebrating my girl who very soon will be a teenager 🙁

Hope you find these ideas adorable like I do and that you are inspired to host your own kind of FIESTA or even a Cinco de Mayo party!

XO,

Nancy
